Your Local Guide to Fourth of July Weekend 2026 in Pinellas County

America's 250th birthday only happens once, and Pinellas County is not letting it pass quietly. This weekend is stacked — fireworks on the Gulf, concerts on the waterfront, parades down Main Street, and celebrations in nearly every community from Tarpon Springs to St. Pete Beach. If you're spending the holiday here on the coast (lucky you), here's everything you need to know to plan your weekend.

A few practical notes before you head out: plan ahead for parking and traffic, especially near waterfront venues on the evening of July 4th. Florida summer weather moves fast — check conditions before you go, and have a backup plan if storms roll in. Most organizers recommend confirming event status on the day of.

Thursday, July 3

Clearwater's Two-Day America250 Festival — Coachman Park

Clearwater is going big this year with a two-day celebration at Coachman Park, 300 Cleveland St. Thursday's festivities run 5–10 p.m. and include a children's zone, live musical performances, street performers, a military and veteran appreciation tent, a silent disco, and food vendors. The night closes with a laser light show and FX finale at 9:15 p.m. Friday brings the full fireworks display at the same time. If you're choosing one night, Friday's fireworks are the headline — but Thursday's laser show is worth the trip on its own. More info: myclearwater.com

Clearwater Threshers Fireworks — BayCare Ballpark

The Clearwater Threshers are hosting postgame fireworks on both July 3 and July 4 at BayCare Ballpark. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for 6:30 p.m. games, with what the team is billing as their largest postgame fireworks display of the season following each game. A great option if you want fireworks with a side of minor league baseball. More info: milb.com/clearwater

Dunedin Hometown USA — TD Ballpark

Dunedin's celebration starts with something genuinely fun: the Dunedin Goes Carting patriotic golf cart parade through downtown, ending at TD Ballpark, 373 Douglas Ave. From there it's live music from Something Major Band, a screening of Miracle, games, face painting, a photo booth, and fireworks around 9:30 p.m. The event begins at 6 p.m. Dunedin always does the Fourth well — this one looks especially good. Friday, July 4

St. Pete Pier Run — St. Pete Pier & Spa Beach

Start the day early with the Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital Pier Run — a four-mile run or walk along the St. Pete Pier and downtown waterfront. Wave times are 6:15 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. A great way to earn your BBQ before the rest of the day begins. More info: stpeterunfest.org

The Fourth at the St. Pete Pier — Downtown St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg's sixth annual Fourth celebration is free and runs 4–10 p.m. at the St. Pete Pier, 600 Second Ave. NE. Live music, a craft beer garden, Uncle Sam's Market, a family fun zone, food vendors, and roaming entertainment lead up to fireworks at 9 p.m. Organizers are promising fireworks that will double in scale and splendor this year in honor of America's 250th. Fourth of July Pops Spectacular — Mahaffey Theater, St. Pete

St. Pete Opera is marking America's 250th with a patriotic musical program at the Mahaffey Theater, 400 First St. S. The performance begins at 6 p.m. A more refined way to spend the evening before the fireworks. More info: themahaffey.com

St. Pete Beach Red, White & BBQ — Horan Park

Horan Park at 7701 Boca Ciega Drive hosts St. Pete Beach's free celebration from 5–9 p.m. BBQ cooking competition, inflatable obstacle course, dunk tank, yard games, library crafts, a watermelon eating contest, ice cream, and a military tribute and flyover. Fireworks at 9 p.m. This one has a great neighborhood feel — highly recommend if you're on the beach side. More info: spbrec.com

Gulfport Semiquincentennial — City Hall & Waterfront

Gulfport is doing the full day: a time capsule opening ceremony at City Hall starting at 9 a.m., Family Fun Day at Tomlinson Park from 10 a.m.–2 p.m., a community parade at 11 a.m., and fireworks from Williams Pier at 9 p.m. A genuinely community-centered celebration worth the drive. Treasure Island Fireworks — Gulf Front Park

Treasure Island keeps it simple and spectacular: fireworks shot from the beach near Gulf Front Park (10400 Gulf Blvd.) starting around 9 p.m. If you're staying close to Indian Rocks Beach, this is your nearest fireworks show. Stake out a spot on the sand early. More info: mytreasureisland.org

Madeira Beach Red, White & Blue on the Bay — ROC Park

Madeira Beach's waterfront celebration runs 5–9 p.m. at ROC Park, 200 Rex Place. Live music, food, vendors, and fireworks at 9 p.m. Another great option for those staying on the Gulf beaches. More info: madeirabeachfl.gov

Yacht StarShip Fireworks Cruise — Clearwater

For something different, Yacht StarShip is offering a Fourth of July fireworks cruise out of Clearwater with a meal, drinks, DJ entertainment, and views of the fireworks from the water. Moccasin Lake Nature Park Celebration — Clearwater

A quieter, nature-focused option: Moccasin Lake Nature Park, 2750 Park Trail Lane in Clearwater, hosts a free Red, White and Blue Celebration from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Free hot dogs while supplies last, eco-crafts, boardwalk activities, and a Heritage Tree Celebration honoring the park's oldest oaks. Safety Harbor Parade and Fireworks

Safety Harbor starts the day with a patriotic parade down Main Street at 10 a.m., hosted by American Legion Auxiliary Unit 238, beginning at Ninth Avenue South and traveling east toward Main Street and Philippe Parkway. Tarpon Springs Picnic and Fireworks

Tarpon Springs hosts a Fourth of July picnic at Craig Park from 10 a.m.–1 p.m., followed by an evening fireworks display at Sunset Beach, 1800 Gulf Road, beginning around 9 p.m. weather permitting. A beautiful setting for fireworks on the water. More info: spongedocks.net

Redington Beach Liberty and Libations — Beach Park

Belleair Bluffs Block Party — City Hall

Belleair Bluffs celebrates at City Hall, 2747 Sunset Blvd., from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. with live music, food vendors, family-friendly activities, and touch-a-truck experiences. A relaxed daytime option. More info: belleairbluffs.org

Largo Central Park Celebration

Largo's free celebration at Largo Central Park runs 6–9 p.m. with live music, family-friendly activities, crafts, interactive entertainers, food trucks, and market vendors. A solid evening option if you're in the Largo area. More info: playlargo.com

Innisbrook Resort — Palm Harbor

Innisbrook Resort, 36750 U.S. Highway 19 N. in Palm Harbor, is running a full America250 Fourth of July weekend July 2–5 with fireworks, a golf cart parade, poolside celebrations, and other events. More info: innisbrookresort.com

Coming Up: July 11 & July 16

The celebrations don't stop on the 4th. Heritage Village in Largo marks a double milestone — its own 50th anniversary and America's 250th — with the All-American 50 at 250 Bash on July 11, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. at 11909 125th St. N. Free family festival. More info: heritagevillagefl.org

And on July 16, The Dalí Museum in St. Pete hosts Stars & Scoops, an Independence Day-themed Surreal Summer Nights event from 5–8 p.m. Half-off gallery admission after 5 p.m., music, and free ice cream-inspired art activities with Wildflower Ice Cream. More info: thedali.org

A Note on Fireworks at the Beach

If you're celebrating on the sand in Indian Rocks Beach or anywhere in Pinellas County, a reminder: aerial fireworks are prohibited on all Pinellas County beaches and throughout incorporated municipalities including Indian Rocks Beach. Sparklers are generally permitted for personal use, but always check current local rules before lighting anything.
